| [Chinese
egret] Egrettta eulophotes (SWINHOE) |
| |

- Features£şThere are no genital
feathers on their back head, bottom neck, and shoulder of
winter plumage. They have a whole of summer plumage in the
end of April although their molting is not clear. Their
bottom neck has about 10 centimeter long genital feather
made up of many feathers. Their shoulder has the straight
genital feather which reached tail, but their branch of
feathers are close together because these species' genital
feathers are less developed than other species' of their
genus and their axis of feathers is low.
- Mode of life£şThey are endangered
birds of world and are internationally protected. They are
very rare summer season birds and passing birds. They live
in a small group made up of four or five. Their legs can
be seen out of tail while flying, and their genital feathers
are not long. Their crown of feathers is vivid.
- Taste£şThey live on fishes
and crustacea.
- Range£şThey can be found in
the temperate zones in East Asia, from Ussuri to Manchuria,
and the Northern part of Korea.
