- Features: The head and the
upper neck of the males and females with summer plumage
are black, and they have small white spots under the eyes.
The back, the shoulder feathers, and the waist are light
blue gray. The lower neck, the breast, the stomach, the
side, the upper feathers covering tail, and the lower feathers
covering tail are pure white. The lower feathers covering
wings and the armpit feathers are white. The beak is black,
and the legs are red. The head of winter plumage is white,
and they have dark ashy splashes on their back head and
slate color spots in front of the eyes and behind the ear
feathers. The males are bigger than the females.
- Mode of life: They are winter
birds. They have the habits similar to those of the black-headed
gulls.
- Taste: They live on Crustacea
- Range: They can be found
in Korea, Japan, Manchuria, Ussuri, Sakhalin, and Taiwan.
